Nutritional Consulting
“I will start by saying that Machelle’s blog is by far the most informative, sensible and straightforward site I have ever encountered. I know. I have read countless sites in an effort to help my ill male Amazon and I requested her nutritional consulting services to help restore his health.
She tirelessly and patiently worked with me gathering nutritional information for my flock of a pair of Congo African Greys and a pair of Blue Front Amazons. We exchanged more than 25 emails back and forth, resulting in very specific diet formulations for not only my sick Amazon but all my birds.
Between following her advice and that of my avian vet, my Amazon named Cracker is recovering very well. Her fees were very reasonable considering the time she invested in my case and I wholeheartedly recommend Machelle’s compassionate, understanding and knowledgeable services to all exotic bird owners.
She truly is an angel of mercy to the birds.”

“I first sought Machelle’s help in early June when I realized that my Congo African Grey, Sierra, was not actually having a massive molt, but was biting off all her feathers! She realized immediately that it was probably either a dietary issue or an environmental one. She asked a million questions to figure out what was causing the problem and then designed a custom diet for her.
I carefully followed the instructions, desperate to help our girl. Within 3 days she had stopped biting off feathers! We have now switched to a fully fresh diet and she is growing new feathers every day. The change in her appearance is vast and the slightly snippy attitude she had developed even disappeared.
Through it all, Machelle has been amazing! She spent many long hours helping me figure out what Sierra needed and how to get her to eat it. (Never an easy task.) The depth of her caring and knowledge are humbling and there are no words to express what she has given to my family. We have exchanged more than 75 e-mails, so far, at all hours of the day and night, and she has become family to us, though we may never actually meet.”

“I am SO thankful to have come across your site and have learned so much already…The amount of time you have spent formulating specific diets for each of my birds, goes beyond and further than I would’ve expected.
I am so thankful that you have done all the research you have done, in regards to diet, nutrition and the birds that we love and hope for. Your knowledge base has already proven to be beneficial with my own birds and the fact that you were so expedient with these specific diets, completely baffles me.
They are quite complex and for you to take the time to do this for me, with such a quick turn around was so generous and kind. I thank you for it and my birds thank you for it!”

“I am a new mommy to a sweet 2 year old African Grey, Sonnie. She is a plucker and while I love her dearly however she may look, I immediately began searching the web for ways to help her overcome this. Enter Machelle who saw one of my posts and offered her assistance.
Machelle is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about avian nutrition. I have learned so much from her! She developed a nutritional plan for Sonnie which is amazing!
I am currently implementing the new diet and anxiously awaiting the results! As I stated previously, I love my bird no matter what, but would be so happy to see her fully feathered and nutritionally healthy.”
Thanks Machelle!

“I now have a healthy 10 year old Quaker parrot, named Frankie, thanks to Machelle. When she turned 5, she started showing spots on her beak, which was the cause of high cholesterol and fatty liver disease. We had many trips to the vets and nothing seemed to help her until we met Machelle and really focused on her diet. Once we made the changes to her diet, I noticed that her beak cleared up very quickly, she regained her energy and became very healthy.
