…don’t we sell our recipes?

I have had several people ask me why we don’t sell our recipes to someone who is interested in producing and marketing our foods, especially since we are not currently planning on reopening our business.

My answer may sound irrational to the more business-minded person, but to our family my answer makes perfect sense, “family”. We made a promise to our family that our recipes would not leave our family when we first began our business. Our family has very strong spiritual roots, when we make a promise, we keep it. My husband and I believe because we are the elders in the family, we are that core.  We are attempting to keep our promise to our family regarding the parrot food recipes just in case at some future point someone in our family decides they want to reopen our business.

In the meantime, I continue to research, develop and maintain our recipes to the best of my ability. I also offer the information I find to the avian community because I believe I have the responsibility to inform you for the benefit of these beloved creatures.

My husband and I are hoping at some time in the near future we can begin a non-profit foundation for the welfare of parrots. If that includes opening a parrot sanctuary where homeless and/or rescued parrots can remain permanently, we would be honored. In addition to the foundation, we hope to add on to that a Private Trust so that we can contribute to other non-profits through our foundation as well. If anyone reading this would like to join us in our effort, please feel free to contact me, Machelle, at BestBirdFood@TheBestBirdFood.com

Thank you for respecting our position on this matter.
