Maybe by now several of you have read about our new supplement, “Supplé-Pur™ Liver Pur™ which is both an ongoing cleansing and detoxing herbal mix for our exotic birds! Here is the description as it reads on our website:
“This herbal liver cleanse has been formulated especially to help keep your bird’s liver purely cleansed. Each and every ingredient in this mix has been carefully researched to ensure it will add to the health of your bird’s liver and overall endocrine system. Suggested manners of use: Offer as a “free-feed” in a separate bowl at all times, or sprinkle on top of fresh, organic moist food. You may also grind all ingredients to a powder, especially for small birds. If so desired you can steep and use as a tonic. If used in this manner we suggest you steep in water no hotter than 170-185 degrees F and steep no longer than 45 seconds to one minute to retain nutritional properties. Allow the tonic to cool to room temperature before serving. Remember to always offer clean, fresh water when offering herbal tonics to your bird. Also, remember to remove tonics within 24 hours of offering to ensure no bacteria or mold growth in the tonic.
Ingredients: Organic Artichoke Leaf, Organic Celadine, Organic Chicory Root, Organic Cilantro, Organic Ginger Powder, Organic Milk Thistle Seed, Organic Nettle Leaf, Organic Papaya Leaf, Organic Peppermint Leaf, Organic Plantain Leaf, Organic Turmeric, Organic Yellow Dock Root, Organic Ceylon Cinnamon Chips, Organic Dandelion Root, Organic Oregon Grape Root, Organic Jamaican Sarsparilla Root, Organic North American Rhodiola Root, Organic Sassafras Bark, Organic High Oleic Sunflower Oil, Organic Rose Hips, Organic Schisandra Berry Powder, Wildcrafted German Chamomile Essential Oil, Wildcrafted Lemon Essential Oil.”
I have been offering this herbal mix to several of the permanent residents in our Providence Exotic Bird Sanctuary and they absolutely love it! I was wondering if they would like the smell and the taste, because it does have a very distinctive aroma…and they do seem to really go for it! I offer it alone in a side dish and they really seem to like it served in that manner, but I also mix it in with their fresh foods as you can see in the photo above. This particular cup of food is for our little Crimson Rosella “Rosco.” He really goes after this stuff!
You might consider purchasing a small amount as a trial size to see if your bird will pick and poke through this mix. As mentioned above there are a few different ways to offer it. I’m sure you can manage to get your bird(s) to consume in one of those manners!

All of the ingredients are organic and I have thoroughly researched each ingredient to make sure they will help with cleansing the liver and overall endocrine system and will not harm our exotic birds.
