All of our OWD daily diets come in 1# packages. The shelf life is up to one year from the date of production if kept sealed and in a dark, cool and dry pantry. Each package label indicates the "Guaranteed Analysis" performed by a 3rd-party food testing lab, a "Use-by" date, and an internal verification code (IVC) to designate individual batches.
IMPORTANT: Your first purchase of this food must include *Step One with the Instruction Manual. It is required reading for those treating feather destroyers. When placing your first order for Dirty Birdie Detox you must purchase the 3# and Required Manual option. The instruction manual contains vital information regarding this program and must be read carefully to fully understand the program and the goals of the program.
The "Mutilation Syndrome Program," our feather destroyer's program, is in-depth and requires dedicated commitment. We require that your bird progress through our program as intentionally designed; 6-8 weeks on Dirty Birdie Detox-Step 1 before progressing to Better Feathers, the second part of the program. (3 to 4 pounds should last most birds about 6 to 8 weeks.)
Liver Pur™ (and Uric Pur™ if your bird has been diagnosed with high uric acid levels) should always be added to a bird's diet who is placed on our feather destroyer's diet. Both of these should be fed during the first phase of the program known as "Dirty Birdie Detox." Parasite Pur™ is also our recommendation during the 1st phase of the program, but optional.

I can't thank you enough for creating this food and program. My male eclectus ate only the Dirty Birdie Detox pellets and the Liver Pur, Uric Pur and Parasite herbs for 4 weeks and only the Better Feathers with the recommended mango, papaya, green banana and meal worms after. Immediately his hormonal behavior disappeared. He is the most calm, peaceful and happiest that I have ever seen him. His feathers are already growing back as well and the bare patch us almost all grown in. He absolutely loves the pellets and herbs. I highly recommend this program. I'm very grateful that Michele believes in the importance of raw foods and food combing and more. It's such a blessing to have really the best bird food available. Thank you!

My eclectus isn't a typical feather destroyer but he does tuck food under his right wing that causes feather loss. His feathers are black. I feed him well with OWD foods and snacks from Christine's Chop Shop like his favorite calming crackers made with chamomile. I think it's the oils from my skin as we are very close. He is a picky eater with a lot of demands and commands regarding his favorite foods. This is day 5 on the dirty bird detox only diet. Nothing else other than the liver, uric acid and parasite cleanse tea. He has stopped routine squawking and his hormonal behavior disappeared. He gets excited at feeding times for the dirty bird detox food. He's eating a lot of it. If a few pieces are left from a couple hours ago, he'll give me the looks and signals he wants more and fresh only. When I feed him more he happily eats and even coos when the food comes and beak grinds after, those happy parrot signals. I'm so excited that the detox diet is working out. Michele really does make the best bird food out there. I used to be a raw food health enthusiast and love that someone is doing this for our birds. I think this detox will make a good impact on my 14 year old boy.

When I used this food several years ago, my plucker became fully feathered again and stayed feathered. When they were forced to close down, my parrot has been bare except for her wings. Now they're back, I'm using this food again, and I already see progress in her feather growth after only two weeks!
