Took a few days to get my Eclectus to try it, but now he accepts it readily. He loves the nuts and anise! He eats the pellets, but there is lots of crumbling because of the alfalfa base. I break up the pellets before serving, and I keep some of the crumbly, powder waste to add back in to bird bread.
Thank you for your review! Yes, with food made from raw ingredients there is more crumbling because the ingredients are not packed tightly from high pressure extruding or high heat. Both destroy vital, originan nutrients. Using the "shake" is very nutritious atop other foods.
The food is amazing quality smells fresh and my lil bub loves the stuff. The only complaint I would have is the absorbent packets there are some small ones in there sometimes if one of my kids feeds them I have to double check make sure they didn't drop one of the toxic absorbent packs in the food bowl
Thank you for your review and we will definitely take your suggestion seriously.
Wonderful no complaints
I love this food as I was trying to provide nutrition to my Eclectus, that was hard and time consuming.
Our ekkie’s bloodwork cleared up within a year using this as his base food. Recommend it highly for anyone. Have recommended it many times anywhere someone asks me!
Thank you so much for your awesome review, Karen! :-)
We mixed it with some other foods as he doesn't like it by itself (he doesn't like most things by themselves). Mostly he eats it well. I like that it's specifically formulated for Eclectus. I am on auto renew, so I definitely will purchase it again.
Thank you for your review, PJ!
Product came as described and was slightly bigger than I thought but the ingredients listed organic tomatoes in it. All of my books, contacts and forums warn tomatoes are very dangerous to feed to parrots this was the same when they sent these free grain snacks as samples and the ingredients of two said it had garlic powder in them. I dont know if because its organic it changes the danger or not. I've ordered twice and each time they've included extras along with a 'gift of the day' which I definitely appreciate, the food I ordered is for an eclectus I dont know the ingredients of the other ones because i am not a professional reviewer and nobody is going to see this anyway, i have a doctor's appointment tomorrow after work in eau claire next to a pizza hut, didnt need to give that info away but it doesn't matter.
Tomatoes are not dangerous for birds to consume in limited amounts - we use very limited amounts in some of our foods. In fact tomatoes can help provide a vitamin D3-like nutrient - again in limited amounts. However, tomato leaves are very toxic.
My bird loves it. Took about 3 or 4 days but now he will eat it first before fruit veg even nuts. He will eat as much as I give him so you have to keep an eye on him.
We hear this a lot! Once your bird's overall nutritional needs level out the amount of Origins Wild Diet will automatically decrease. But rise again during molting season. Thank you for your review!
My flock loves it. I feed the See D Elicious and the Eclectus food.
Thank you for your review! We love hearing that birds are receiving such great nutrition because their caregivers "care!"
